Ask for the correct measurement chart
Start with the garment you want to order. Ask the supplier for its product reference, available sizes and current measurement chart. Confirm whether the chart describes the garment itself or the person wearing it.
A size used for one T-shirt should not automatically be carried across to a golf shirt, hoodie or another supplier’s product. Treat each style as a separate choice.
Compare a garment that fits well
- Choose a similar garment with the fit you want.
- Follow the measuring points in the supplier’s guide.
- Compare the measurements with the exact product chart.
- Record the selected size against that garment and colour.
- Ask about a sample if the fit remains uncertain.
For children’s apparel, confirm the product’s size system and measurements. An age label alone may not provide enough information to choose the fit.
Keep the breakdown easy to check
| Record | What to include |
|---|---|
| Garment | Product name or reference and intended fit. |
| Colour | A separate entry for each colour. |
| Size | The size shown on the confirmed product chart. |
| Quantity | The number required in that size and colour. |
Add the quantities again before sharing the brief. Keep personal names separate unless they are needed for individual branding or distribution.
Add the list to your enquiry
Prepare your enquiry brief and include any measurement questions. Ask the actual supplier to confirm the garment, sizes, price, currency, taxes and fulfilment details in the quote. The planner prepares a copyable or downloadable brief; it does not place an order.
